The character of a top is decided before it is ever worn — in the weight and weave of the fabric. Proportion before pairing

Wear it longer
A good top should improve with knowing, not wear out from washing. Follow the care notes in the Fabric Passport — for most of our cloth that means a cold wash, reshaped and dried flat away from direct heat, which protects the weave and keeps the colour true. Worn and rested in turn, rather than laundered after every wear, the fabric stays honest for years. If a piece does not settle as it should, our 14-day returns give you room to be sure.
