What to Wear in Dubai in November: Flag Day, Diwali and Cooler Evenings
Warm days, softer evenings, Flag Day on 3 November and Diwali on the 8th: what to wear in Dubai in November, for women and men.

November is when the UAE moves back outdoors. The heat eases, terraces and beaches fill up again, and the calendar gets busy. If you are wondering what to wear in Dubai in November, the short answer is your warm-weather wardrobe plus one layer with sleeves. The month also brings two dates worth dressing for: Flag Day on Tuesday 3 November and Diwali on Sunday 8 November.
November in Dubai: warm days and cooler evenings
Days are still warm and bright, and some mornings stay humid. The real change comes after sunset: evenings are more comfortable than they have been since spring, and desert and inland areas usually feel cooler after dark than the coast. Indoors, nothing changes. Malls, offices and cinemas keep the air-conditioning high, which is reason enough to carry a layer all year.
Averages only tell you so much. Before a beach evening or a trip out of the city, check the forecast from the National Centre of Meteorology.
Flag Day on 3 November: red, green, white and black with everyday pieces
On Flag Day, the flag goes up at schools, offices and homes across the country. Wearing its colours is a simple way to join in, and it does not take a costume: one piece in red, green, white or black, worn with neutrals you already own, says it clearly.
Flag Day is the day after this guide goes up, so start with your own wardrobe. For the rest of the season, these colourways are on the site:
- Red: the Sheen Blouse, with a visible sheen, a split neckline and sleeves that reach below the elbow; the Corsage Polo, with an open polo collar and short sleeves; and the Headphones Tee for men.
- Green and white: the Pinpoint Dot Blouse, covered in small dark dots, with a short stand collar and three-quarter sleeves; and the Good Luck Tee in white for men.
- Black: the Tie-Hem Top for women and the Logo Patch Crew Tee for men.
Pair one colour with white or black trousers and let it do the work. Eid Al Etihad on 2 December is the bigger day for the flag colours, and a fuller outfit guide for it follows in the Journal later this month.
Diwali gatherings on 8 November: polished outfits for visits and dinners
Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated by many families across the UAE with home visits, sweets and long dinners. If you are a guest and do not own traditional clothes, a polished blouse is a respectful choice. Many families favour bright, festive colours for the day and some avoid black, so colour is the thoughtful option.
The Sheen Blouse in red or pink looks festive without trying too hard. Its sleeves reach below the elbow, which suits a visit to a family home, and its curved hem sits neatly over wide trousers or a long skirt. The Pinpoint Dot Blouse in pink is a quieter alternative. Add simple gold jewellery and you are ready.
For men, our range is tees. A clean tee with a small chest mark works under a jacket for a relaxed visit; for a formal dinner, your own shirt is the better call.
Daytime: short sleeves and round necks that keep it simple
Daytime in November still calls for short sleeves. A round neckline and an easy shape look right from the school run to a shaded brunch.
- For her: the Tie-Hem Top has a round neckline, short sleeves and a tie that gathers the front hem, which gives a plain outfit a finished line over high-waisted trousers.
- For him: the Logo Patch Crew Tee has a small square patch on the left chest, wide sleeves and a straight outline. The Good Luck Tee keeps everything below its narrow motif plain.
Pale colours look fresh in strong light, and sunglasses and sunscreen still matter more than any outfit.
After sunset: when to add a long-sleeve sweatshirt
As the month goes on, evenings outdoors start to need sleeves: a beach walk, a terrace dinner, a night at a desert camp. A sweatshirt over your daytime tee is the simplest answer, and it earns its place indoors too, in cinemas and air-conditioned restaurants.
Our women's hoodies and sweatshirts include five illustrated teddy-bear sweatshirts in ivory, each with long sleeves, a round neckline and a square-textured surface. The Classic Teddy Sweatshirt, with a ribbon at the bear's neck, goes with almost anything. Carry it over your shoulders on the way out and put it on when the breeze picks up.
Men's pieces on the site are short-sleeved tees, so for him the evening layer is a jacket or overshirt from his own wardrobe, worn open over a straight tee.
Getting the size right before you order
Check the size guide before you order. It lists body measurements in centimetres, with a short guide to measuring yourself. Our pieces are cut with an easy, relaxed fit, so a size can feel a little roomier than the label; if you are between two sizes and prefer a closer fit, take the smaller one.
Delivery is free across the UAE on every order and takes 3–5 working days, so order a few days before an evening you are dressing for. If the size is not right, you can exchange it within 7 days of delivery, and we collect it from your door free of charge.
