Why Every Colour Is Its Own Piece

On wearon.co a colour is not a swatch on a dropdown. It is a product with its own page, photographs and stock.

A coral piece worn — a colour of its own

Most stores sell "the tee" and let you pick a colour from a row of dots. We do not, and it is worth explaining why.

One page per colour

Each colour on wearon.co is its own product: its own photographs, its own name, its own stock count for every size. When you look at the navy, you are looking at the navy, not at the white with a navy swatch beside it.

What that gets you

  • Exact stock. A size is either there in that colour or it is not. No "in stock" that turns out to mean "in white".
  • Honest photographs. Every colour is shot in the same studio light, so the differences you see between pages are real differences between garments.
  • Cleaner records. Your order, your invoice and your return all name the exact piece.

Sister colours

The other colours of a piece are still one tap away: they sit under the price as small photographs, and each one opens its own page. You lose nothing except the guesswork.

The trade-off

It is more work for us. More pages to keep truthful, more photographs to take, more stock to count. We think that is the right side of the trade.
