How to style a blouse, from desk to evening

A blouse is the most expressive piece in a calm wardrobe — it carries the light, the drape and the line of the shoulder all at once. Knowing how to style a blouse is really a question of restraint: choose a cloth that moves well, then let it do the talking. We cut ours unisex, from cloth chosen for how it moves, so the hand feels considered before a single button is fastened.
Begin with the collar
A blouse is read first at the neck, so let the collar set the register. Worn open with the top button undone, a soft-collared blouse reads relaxed and editorial; closed to the throat, the same piece turns precise and quietly formal. The trick is to commit to one — a half-open collar looks undecided, while a clean, deliberate line at the neck makes even the plainest blouse feel resolved.
Proportion, tuck and drape
How a blouse meets the waist decides the whole silhouette. A full front tuck with a soft back length flatters high-rise trousers and lengthens the leg; left loose over a relaxed trouser, the same blouse reads easy and modern. Roll the cuffs to the forearm to break the line, keep your trouser in a related tone rather than a hard contrast, and let the fabric fall — a blouse cut with real drape rewards stillness far more than fuss.
How to keep a blouse beautiful
