How to style a sweatshirt without losing the line

A sweatshirt is the most honest thing in a wardrobe: it has nowhere to hide behind tailoring, so everything depends on the cloth and the cut. Ours begin with looped-back cotton chosen for weight and recovery, then drawn to a clean, considered line — the kind you can wear to a studio, a long flight, or a quiet Sunday without a second thought. Learning how to style a sweatshirt well is really about reading proportion, and letting one good piece set the tone for the rest.
The weight tells the truth
What separates a sweatshirt you reach for from one you forget is the hand of the fabric — its weight, its loft, and the way the brushed interior sits against the skin. A heavier loopback holds its shape through the day and softens rather than slumps with wear; a lighter one layers cleanly under a coat without bulk at the collar. Each piece arrives with its Fabric Passport, so you know the fibre, the weight and the weave you are styling around before you ever pull it on.
Proportion before everything
A sweatshirt earns its place by how it meets the rest of the outfit, not by shouting over it. Let a relaxed, dropped shoulder fall just past the joint and balance the ease up top with a cleaner line below — a tapered trouser, a straight-leg denim, a long skirt — so the volume reads intentional. Tuck a half-front into a higher waist to redraw the proportion, or wear it full and loose over something slim; both work because the cut is unisex by design and built to flatter a range of bodies the same considered way.
Keeping the shape for years
Looped cotton rewards a gentle routine. Wash cold and inside out to protect the brushed face and the rib at cuff and hem, skip the tumble dryer, and dry flat so the body keeps its line rather than stretching at the shoulders. The care guidance lives on each garment's Fabric Passport, and within fourteen days you are welcome to return a piece that does not settle into your wardrobe the way you hoped.
